It began with a drawing, during our seminar in final year at university. A quiet afternoon, a pencil, and a face I sketched out of boredom. I never meant for him to know.

But word travels, and soon he came looking for the girl behind the drawing, and asked for my number. I was too shy to say much — the last thing I wanted was for him to know.

Then, somehow, months passed before we spoke.
